The Area
Oconto County is a thousand square miles of trail, forest and water, and the lodge sits in the middle of it with the trail running past the door.
The area
Lakewood is the last real town before the national forest, and most of what people come up here to do starts within half an hour of the parking lot. In summer that means the water, the ATV trails and the waterfalls. In winter it means the sled trails, which connect directly to the property, and the ice.
Below is what is actually near, with the numbers we can stand behind. Where a distance is not listed it is because we would be guessing, and the front desk will tell you properly.
Trails
The trail runs past the door.
Waubee Lake Lodge sits on the Oconto County trail system — you can ride in, park, eat and sleep without trailering. More than 130 miles of ATV trail are within a short distance, and Travel Wisconsin named the county the ATV Capital of the World in 2023.
