Dining
A supper club on the water, open to everybody. Kitchen seven days, bar from nine in the morning, and a deck over the lake from the day it is warm enough.
The dining room is the oldest habit in the place. Log walls, a vaulted pine ceiling, long tables, mounted game on the walls and an aquarium set into the log surround — the sort of room that gets built once and then left alone because it works.
In season, most people would rather be on the covered deck. It runs along the lake side of the building under the balconies, twenty feet from the water, and on a warm Friday it fills up with people who drove in from around the lake rather than anybody staying the night. That is the part worth understanding about this restaurant: it is a local supper club that happens to have a hotel attached, not a hotel restaurant.
The kitchen runs steaks, walleye and lake fish, chicken and pork, pizza made to order, and burgers and sandwiches from eleven in the morning until close. There is a Sunday chicken special. Gluten-free is marked on the menu and there is a gluten-free pizza crust.
Reservations are recommended and not required. Walk-ins are welcome, including yours.

The menu

The kitchen serves steaks, walleye and Friday fish, burgers and sandwiches from eleven, and a Sunday chicken special. We have not reprinted prices here because the menu changes with the season and the last one published online is two summers old.
This section fills itself in the moment a current menu is entered in the admin panel — section, item, price, gluten-free flag. It is empty because the newest menu published online is two summers old, not because it has nowhere to go.
The bar
The bar opens at nine.
Full bar, a long live-edge pine counter and hickory stools, televisions on for whatever is on. It opens at nine in the morning every day of the year alongside the office, which tells you something about who is coming through the door and when.
In winter the sleds park outside it. In summer it is the people off the boats.
